Malawi to Host World Union Of Catholic Women

Malawi will from August 29th to September 5th in the year of Lord 2016 host the World Union of Catholic Women Organization (WUCWO) conference to be held at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe.

According to the organising committee, delegates from Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Swaziland,
Senegal, Mali, Namibia, Kenya, Madagascar, Liberia, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Congo, Gabon, Burundi, Cameroon and the host
Malawi will attend.

WUCWO was set by the Holy See (Vatican) as a public international organization of the faithful in 2006 to honour the efforts of the
faithful Catholic women in the Union at the parish, diocesan, national and international level.
WUCWO General Secretariat is in Paris France and the last WUCWO conference was held in Fatima, Portugal in 2014 but the last WUCWO Africa region conference was held in Nigeria in February 2013.

Founded in 1910, WUCWO represents 100 Catholic Women’s Organisations wordwide with a total membership of over 5 million.
