The Malawi national football team Caretaker Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan has appointed Junior Flames Under-17 and Blue Eagles
Coach Derklerk Msakakuona and former Flames and Big Bullets defender Patrick Mabedi as his assistants.
Football Association of Malawi(FAM) General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said coach Ramadhan was given an opportunity to appoint his backroom staff as the team is
set to play against Swaziland in the African Cup of the Nation (Afcon) qualifying campaign.
“Coach Ramadhan was given chance to appoint his backroom staff and has appointed Derklerk Msakakuona and Patrick Mabedi,” said Nyirenda.
According to Nyirenda, Ramadhan who has also appointed Clement Kafwafwa Team Manager and Swadic Sanudi as Goalkeeper Trainer maintaining their positions, have signed a One month contract starting from
August 10 to 10 September, 2016.
The Burundian Coach Ramadhan who was also the former Bullets coach was hired as an Assistant to Ernert Mtawali but axed as a result of the Flames’ poor run.
In the Afcon qualifier Malawi is in the Group L to the bottom end with two points and was recently thumped by Zimbabwe’s Warriors 3-nil in the country.
Meanwhile, coach Ramadhan has expressed optimism winning the remaining battle citing he has never declared himself a failure
in his coaching career.
