The remains of Jacobs Mwase popularly known as Zakaria in the theatre circles will be laid to rest this afternoon at Namalimwe Cemetery in Ndirande, Blantyre.
Mwase died on Wednesday morning at Thyolo district Hospital after a long illness.
He survived with a wife and four children.
Late Mwase was popular in comedies which he started with Ada Mhone (late Twaliki Wisiki) and then went on to star with Frank Yalu as Zachariah and Nginde.
He also starred for Sewero la Sabata Ino on state owned Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation (MBC) and used the Yao accent as his style although he hailed from Likoma Island.
Earlier this year he was working on Palibe Chinsisi, a new movie series that is likely to give the other side of the artist as it dwells
on where real life meets spirituality.
His death comes just months after the death of another renowned actor JohnNyanga popularly known as Izeki.
