Kabwila Seeking Refuge in DPP

Information reaching Nyika Daily News political desk indicates that opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) suspended mouth-piece Dr Jessie Kabwila is seeking refuge in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

According to MCP President Dr Lazarus Chakwera, Kabwila and other MCP top officials were suspended on Thursday after being suspected of hiring some Thugs to petro bomb Party Headquarters in the capital city with the aim of taking over power.

“As you are all aware, some people were apprehended here at the MCP headquarters with intent to takeover the Party Headquarters. When these people were quizzed, they confessed that there were sent by some five Party members. Two of the five were Jessie Kabwila and Joseph Njobvuyalema,’’ said Chakwera.

He added,’’ The matter is in the hands of the Police. Looking at the gravity of the allegation, NEC decided to suspend the two while subjecting them to a Disciplinary process managed by a disciplinary committee that was constituted by NEC with effect from 31st August 2016’’

The party also suspended Chatonda Kaunda , Lyton Dzombe, Chatinkha Chidzanja Nkhoma, Dennis Nanthumba, Gwazantini, Isaac Jere , Hazam Mwale while Felix Jumbe has being axed from the party.

The whole squabbles started in MCP when president Chakwera made some changes in the Nation Executive Committee which saw Felix Jumbe being demoted.
