Ex-President Joyce Banda in Geneva for Global Women’s Leadership Summit

Former Republic of Malawi President Dr Joyce Banda is currently in Geneva, Switzerland where she is facilitating a Global Women’s Leadership meeting.

Dr Banda is facilitating at the meeting under the delegation of Woodrow Wilson Centre in Washington where she is doing her research.

Former President of Malawi Joyce Banda joined the Center for Global Development and the Woodrow Wilson Center as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow and Distinguished Fellow respectively.

For the past two years the former Malawi leader has been a research fellow at the centre where her research focuses on women’s political leadership, girls’ education, and maternal and reproductive health.

The 15-time award winner on Women, Girl and Governance issues, Dr Banda has dedicated her life to uplifting livelihoods of women and girls in Malawi through education and business empowerment.

She heads the Joyce Banda Foundation International (JBFI), an organization she founded over 20 years ago. Since then JBFI has expanded globally with offices in United States, Europe,Africa and Middle East.
