Malawi u-20 out of Cosafa after draw with Uganda.

Malawi under 20 football team this afternoon has been booted out of Cosafa under 20 championship 2017 edition currently under way in Zambia after sharing spoils with Uganda in a match played at the Arthur Davies stadium Kitwe Zambia.

The junior flames needed a win to process to semifinal’s but faced a stiff resistance from the opponent’s no Wonder first half ended goalless.

Coming second half, Malawi come with fresh minds no Wonder they got a goal on 70 minutes through Francis Madinga.

However, Uganda who needed just a point to secure a semifinals place broke the hearts of Malawi towards the end when they equalized in the 81st minutes.

This means that Uganda are through to the semifinals after finishing top of group A with five points equal to the junior flames but Uganda had a better goal difference.

Host and defending champions Zambia are also out after finishing third with 4 points while Swaziland finished at the bottom of the group with a single point.

During this years tournament, the junior flames registered one win, two draws and three times man of the match awards. They managed to score five goals and conceded three goals.
